This tutorial demonstrates how to rip DVDs to iPod format using Handbrake for Windows and DVD43 (DVD for free). Note that DVD43 will not work for 64-bit Vista. It is completely free and legal. The sites provided are the creators’ websites and wouldn’t distribute a virus. In addition, I scanned them both and they are clean. *SIDE NOTE* You can also encode in H.264 for good quality. I mentioned it in the video that you should use MPEG-4 but H.264 has better transitioning and similar quality. The only difference is it takes a bit longer for each encode, so if you have the time I would recommend H.264 over MPEG-4. **UPDATE NOTE** There is a new version of Handbrake available on the site different from the one I demonstrate here. The main thing that has changed is the presets have differently labeled options and some new ones. The presets we are interested in are under the Apple section.
