This is a great book for those new to using image editing software. PE Elements 7 will get you started on learning the basics and will take you through more intermediate tasks up to more advanced methods of using the program. It’s also a great resource for methodology tips as well as understanding how to organize your photos for catalog purposes. If you’re taking a lot of digital photos and want to learn how to make them that much better, check out this book!

Okay, maybe not an expert, but at least pretty skilled at Photoshop. But this book really showed me how to make the most of the program and avoid a lot of headaches that I had been suffering at the hands of Photoshop for, oh, TEN YEARS or so! 🙂

The included software is also very helpful. Definitely a book for those wanted to start with Photoshop Elements or get even better at what they’re trying to do with it.

Photography doesn’t end until your photo-editing is complete.

Well as a new user of Photo-shop Elements I have been struggling through just trying to get the basic points of using this amazing program. I threw up my hands many times when I couldn’t’ figure out what to do .That was until I got my hands on this book/Cd combo

It has been an amazing revelation of how much I can really do with PE7 that I didn’t’ know until using this manual I.e Scan a group of pictures on my scanner and then PE7 separates them into individual photos, catalogues my pictures no matter where they are stored either on the computer or CD or external Hard drive and so much more.

1.First of all this book is Easy to follow; Clear and well written.

2.Great Pictures in full color not sketches or tiny thumbnails.

3.CD with exercises that you can try out the new tip or technique right away so that it sticks with you. I don’t know if you are like me but I am a visual learner and this has really helped me master a few tips that I was struggling with prior to getting this book

    4. Learn at your own pace. This is better than a class. If you need to repeat a tip or technique you are in control. Not like a classroom where you either get it the first time around or forget it.

    5. This book gives you some of the insight into what you want to do and how to get it to look like that.

    6. If you want to skip around and try out some things you don’t’ get lost because you are not following in order.

    Conclusion:

If you are serious about learning to use the full functions of Photo-shop Elements 7 this is an excellent tutor to getting you to your goal. Once mastering the program you will be amazed at what you can do with you photos. This manual and CD offer you the best of training in getting those killer photos and have fun doing it.

PS you should see how much better my pictures are that we took on a short vacation after using PE7 with the help of Digital Classroom It made them wonderful pix’s .. One we even enlarged for some wall art!!!!

As an experienced Photoshop user and trainer, I’m occasionally asked to teach the Elements version of the software. This book has been an excellent tool for getting me up to speed on this very different (but extremely capable) program. The exercises and tutorials provide a quick ramp-up to Elements’ many features, and both are presented in a clear and easy-to-follow manner. I would highly recommend this title to beginning and experienced users alike.

This book is very well organized and filled with clear illustrations that show how to easily improve your photos. Each chapter is in a tutorial format with easy instructions. I’ve used Photoshop Elements 6 and 7 for years and wish I had a book like this earlier.

Its only weakness is that almost all of the topics relate to photography and there is perhaps not enough on Photoshop’s power and use for graphic design. There are a couple of chapters on using Photoshop Elements to create designs and the use of layers, but it is not enough for one to even really start creating graphics de novo.

I had to resort to other sources, mostly the internet, to learn how to truly implement the gradient tool and gradient filter as an example to create 3D looking graphical images.
